We’re simply barely alive carcasses. Every morning we get up and wash our carcasses, we try to make them smell good, we scrub off the dead stuff. And hopefully keep the still living stuff alive.
We brush their mandibles, we move them to work, and we give them chemicals and organic matter to help them in fighting off death by regenerating cells.
The fact that we are dying (quickly even) and will most surely die, shouldn’t be a point of discouragement. It needs to be an ever-burning motivation!
“So it is – the life we receive is not short, but we make it so, nor do we lack time, but we waste it. A fortune can be lost in a night if it comes into the hands of a bad owner, while wealth, however limited, grows if the capital is carefully invested. Our life is long enough for anyone who uses it well.”
– Lucius Anneus Seneca
